Mesin Mobil Ferrari
Ferrari adalah produsen mobil Italia yang menghasilkan kendaraan dengan performa tinggi khususnya jenis mobil sport dan mobil balap.
Pabrikan mobil ini berbasis di kota Maranello, Italia.
Ferrari didirikan oleh Enzo Ferrari pada tahun 1929 dengan nama "Scuderia Ferrari".
Perusahaan ini awalnya mensponsori para pembalap dan membuat mobil balap, kemudian pindah ke produksi kendaraan komersial yang dikenal sebagai Ferrari pada tahun 1947.
Sepanjang sejarah, perusahaan ini telah sukses besar dalam dukungan nya terhadap dunia balap, terutama di Formula Satu (F1).
Straight-2
Ferrari was rare among automobile manufacturers in attempting to build a straight-2 automobile engine. The racing prototype never made it to production.[1]
Ferrari termasuk produsen mobil yang jarang membuat mesin mobil straight-2. Prototipe mobil balap yang dibuat tidak pernah sampai ke tahap produksi.
Lampredi
Tahun 1955 membuat Tipo 116 yang merupakan I2 prototype 252 F1.

Straight-3
Selama tahun 90an, Ferrari mengembangkan mesin straight-3 two-stroke engine.
Tipo F134 : pada tahun 1994, membuat prototype mesin 1347 cc
Straight-4
Lampredi merancang mesin straight-4 untuk penggunaan di Formula Two.
Versi berbeda dari mesin ini kemudian digunakan di Formula One dan balap mobil sport.

Straight-6
Lampredi also modified his four into a straight-6 for racing use.

Proyek Dino Ferrari pada akhir tahun 1956 melahirkan mesin 65° V6 DOHC yang terkenal.
Desain Vittorio Jano ini menjadi dasar mesin modern perusahaan hingga pertengahan (dekade) tahun 2000-an.
Seri mesin V6 lainnya dimulai pada tahun 1959 dengan desain 60° V-angle dan single camshaft overhead.

The first Ferrari V8 engine was derived from a Lancia project, used in D50 F1 racecar. The Dino V8 family lasted from the early 1970s through 2004 when it was replaced by a new Ferrari/Maserati design.
